Wappingers Falls village sits on the Wappingers Creek and has a really cute main street that is growing in popularity. The village of Wappingers Falls is very close to Route 9 where a majority of the shopping in Dutchess County is located. It’s a central place to live if you want to be closer to NYC and also be able to take the train to NYC via the New Hamburg Train Station which is very close to the Hudson River. This is a great train station because it has ample parking and is also part of the express line from NYC during some peak rush hour commuting. Easy to park, faster ride to NYC and home. Can’t beat that.

Wappingers Falls is approximately 77 miles from NYC. If you take the train from New Hamburg, Poughkeepsie or Beacon, it’s under 2 hours by train. If you drive down the Taconic Parkway, Palisades or Thruway it can take just under 2 hours depending upon traffic.
